Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Pogo: SAT English Prep is made by Brandon Hornbeck. Contact: ryder@vegaproperties.com or (917) 843-5401.
2. Using the app without an account
The app works fully without signing in. All progress is then stored only on the user's device and is never sent to us.
3. Information collected if you sign in
Optional, to sync progress across devices:
- Account info from Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google: A user ID, email address, and name. With Apple, users can choose "Hide My Email," in which case we receive an Apple relay address. Google may also share a profile photo URL; we don't use it.
- Profile and preferences: The name or nickname the user chooses for the app, approximate SAT test date window, chosen focus areas, daily study goal, and app settings (sound, haptics, dark mode).
- Learning activity: Which practice questions were answered and whether each answer was correct, with a timestamp; lesson and practice session results (score, XP earned, lesson completed); achievements unlocked; and a random device identifier created by the app (not an advertising ID), used only to sync between devices.
4. Notifications
Only if the user turns on reminders: a push notification token, the device platform (iOS/Android), and time zone, used to send study reminders at a sensible local time. We keep a record of reminders sent and a learned typical study time, so reminders aren't repeated or sent at bad times. Users can turn notifications off anytime in their device settings.
5. What we do NOT collect
No advertising, no ad tracking or advertising IDs, no third-party analytics, no location, contacts, photos, microphone, or payment information. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not track users across other companies' apps or websites.
6. How information is used
Only to provide the app's features: syncing progress across devices, showing streaks and mastery, personalizing practice, and sending reminders the user turned on.
7. Service providers that process data on our behalf
- Supabase: secure database and sign-in hosting
- Apple and Google: sign-in
- Expo (EAS): delivers push notifications and app updates
- Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging: deliver notifications to devices
They may only use the data to provide their services to us.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Database rules make sure each account can only access its own data.
9. Data retention and deletion
Data is kept while the account exists. Users can erase their progress anytime with "Reset progress" in the app's settings. To delete the account and all associated data permanently, users can use "Delete account" in the app's settings, or email ryder@vegaproperties.com; we delete it within 30 days. Signing out does not delete data.
10. Your rights
Users can request access to, correction of, or deletion of their data by emailing ryder@vegaproperties.com.
We do not sell or "share" personal information for advertising purposes. Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA) and the EU/UK (GDPR) have specific rights regarding data access and erasure, which we honor through the contact methods above.
11. Children
Pogo is designed for high school students preparing for the SAT and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if a parent believes their child under 13 created an account, contact ryder@vegaproperties.com and we will delete it.
12. Changes
We may update this policy and will change the effective date when we do.
